Mick Bairstow joined Parkinson-Spencer Refractories in January 1983 in his mid-twenties. Today after 40 years of service with the PSR family, Mick has retired.

Mick began his career at PSR in our expendable machine shop, where he was then promoted to be Supervisor. He later moved into production planning for the department.

He now looks forward to enjoying his retirement, which starts with a trip to Lanzarote to see family.

Simon Parkinson, Managing Director at PSR said:

Mick has been a dedicated, skilled, and hard-working PSR employee for just over 40 years, and he has contributed a lot to the business. I would like to thank Mick for his service and loyalty, and we all wish him every happiness in his retirement.

Here you can see Mick with Simon and Joanne Parkinson in the top photos, who are eighth generation of the Parkinson family. There is then a photo of Mick with Nick, our Head of Manufacturing and with Craig, our Casting Manager. Mick and Craig have worked together for 34 years.
