Our wind turbines had a bit of a service this week. The bearings needed changing on both of them and so the engineers came along and did both of them in two days, fighting the Yorkshire elements as they did it. All in all a successful job well done. All in working order and no other proof than to see them both doing what they should be doing on a blustery autumn day.
About our turbines – The road that borders the land at PSR to the East is known locally as Windy Bank Lane and, as its name suggests, has been found to be a suitable site for the recent installation of two wind turbines. Owned and operated by associate Company Parwell Ltd, work on the foundations for the turbines commenced in October 2015 with the first turbine erected and in production by the end of November 2015. The second turbine was erected some three months later and was in production by the end of March 2016. Rated at 65kW, but being limited to 50kW for connection to the grid, the turbines should generate approximately two thirds of the electrical power requirements of PSR.
